1.035 People Participate in Hanjaba 2018

Central Jakarta Library and Archive Sub-dept. commemorates Jakarta Children's Reading Day (Hanjaba) 2018. Around 1,035 children will participate in competitions, which are held at KONI Building, Central Jakarta.

While opening the event, Central Jakarta Mayor, Mangara Pardede reminded that book is a window to the world. Human can develop by gaining knowledge through reading book. Interest in reading should start early thus it becomes a lifetime habit.

"Books collection in 44 RPTRA libraries should be added to improve its quality. Thus visitor's read interest can be increased," he stated, Monday (5/7).

Meanwhile, Central Jakarta Library and Archive Sub-dept. Head, Meti Lastri informed, this event will be held on May 9.

"There are 1,035 people signed up to participate in this event. Later on, 35 winners will be selected from each categories and three of them will be assigned to represent Central Jakarta at provincial level," she mentioned.

There are several competitions in Hanjaba 2018 event in Central Jakarta. Those are coloring competition, painting competition, poetry reading contest, English speech contest, and book summarizing contest for elementary school and junior high school children.

Meanwhile, blogging contest is for senior high school and college students. There are judges from artists, reporters, writers, and painters.
